Jacques Le Goff, nel saggio “Tempo della Chiesa e tempo del mercante” (1977), ha teorizzato la rivoluzione comportamentale del passaggio tra la cultura medioevale (scandita dalle ore della Chiesa) a quella mercantile (scandita dai ritmi delle attività economiche e commerciali). Oggi appare sempre più evidente un altro comportamento: l’abbandono della “piazza civica” a favore della piazza “virtuale” (internet) o “finta” (l’outlet).

Jacques Le Goff, in the essay "Time of the Church and time of the merchant" (1977), theorized the behavioral revolution of the transition between the medieval culture (marked by the hours of the Church) to the Merchant culture (by the rhythms of economic and commercial activities). Today is becoming clearer another behavior: the abandonment of the "town square" in favor of the “virtual” square (internet) or "no real" (the outlet).
